TRUMAN PROGRAM NUTS AND BOLTS
WHO?
Everyone at WMS can participate in the program. The 6th, 7th, and 8th graders read the Truman Nominees.
WHAT?
This is a program where students read from a selected list of 12 books that cover a wide variety of genres. After reading the book, students take a 10 question multiple choice computer quiz over the book in the library. Each time a student passes a quiz with a score of 7 or better, they earn a sticker for their chart and get a sweet treat. If four or more books are read by the first week of March, students get invited to a Pizza Party to vote for the book they liked best.
WHERE?
The students can check out these titles from the WMS Library, classroom libraries, the St. Charles City-County Library, on mobile devices, etc. It all counts as long as you read the book and can pass the quiz. The quizzes must be taken in the WMS Library.
WHEN?
The goal is to read four or more titles by the first week of March to get to vote and attend the Pizza Party.
WHY?
Why would you want to participate? You get to read great books, eat free pizza from the outside world, and earn great prizes!
HOW?
Come to the WMS Library and we will help get you started today!
**Students who read all twelve nominees on the list by May 12th will receive a certificate at the end-of-the-year awards assembly, and an extra prize!
