Welcome to the WMS Library! We are dedicated to providing our students with the best possible resources available in both print and non-print formats. Our goals are to support the middle school curriculum, teach information literacy skills, and foster the love of reading.
THERE ARE GREAT BOOKS IN THE LIBRARY!
Remember there are great books on ALL the shelves of the library, not just the top two shelves at eye level. We do not shelve our books like the grocery store shelves merchandise!
SHOUT OUT TO THE O'FALLON LOWES!!!
A HUGE THANK YOU to the O'Fallon Lowes who has generously donated 64 2x4's for the summer library project (pushing the fiction books forward on the shelves). This project will have a big impact in the library:
1. Books will not become lost behind other books on the shelf
2. Books on lower shelves will become more visible, which in turn will encourage the checking out of great literature that has been difficult to see.
THANK YOU FIRST COMMUNITY CREDIT UNION!
First Community Credit Union gave the library a donation toward building our Virtual Reality Classroom! We can't thank them enough for their support of our students' educational opportunities.
The library has Virtual Reality Viewfinders so the students at West Middle can go on Virtual Reality field trips! Take a walk on the Great Wall of China... visit the Parthenon in ancient Greece... go through the human body to see how the body systems work... attend the symphony to see the different parts of the orchestra... the opportunities are endless.
